So what gives your child (addict) a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
That is key to making life work.
Without purpose and meaning, there's no reason to change our behavior.
How many times have we started to make a change and you say, ah I can’t do that, or it hurts or something happens and you get side tracked.
When it comes to aligning your life with values, principles and with laws, that’s when it comes to making life work.
Changing behavior is an essential part of recovery.
JOY is a more powerful motivator than fear.
So I ask you, "What brings joy into your life?"
What makes you happy?
By that reason you can change your life. Once you find that reason then you can begin to make your life work as it was intended to work.
When a person finds that reason to get up in the morning, then that joy factor is realized and that is motivating.
Making life work begins with finding a reason to life for someone or something beyond ourselves. Joy is found in something or someone beyond us.
Find a reason to live beyond the moment, beyond today, find a reason to live for a better life ahead. And ultimately for a better world to come and then you’re onto making a path of making those changes and living a life that does actually work.
